"Gavin's photographs are like stills from movies you are yet to see, but feel as sharply evocative as things keenly remembered."
- Marcella Evaristi (Playwright, Screenwriter)
Glasgow based Gavin Macqueen has gained recognition as a passionate and committed photographer with his visually creative, artistic style. Originally from Prestwick in Ayrshire, he moved to Caithness, the dramatic land beyond The Highlands, during his teens and the influence of these times is often seen through themes of escape and freedom which filter throughout his work.
In demand across Scotland, he attracts notice for his striking imagery across the genres of music, fashion, theatre, film, fine art, portraiture and landscape.
His photographs have been published in various newspapers and magazines and also as band album artwork. He is currently shortlisted in the UK Landscape Photographer of The Year Awards 2020. Previously, he was shortlisted in The Royal Photographic Societies annual 'International Print Competition' 2017, 2015, 2014 and in the 'Professional Photographer of the Year' awards with Professional Photographer magazine in 2013 and 2010.
